DJsounds presents part one of its special feature on the famous pioneer of chill-out music and all round Ibiza legend – DJ José Padilla.

The summer of 2009 has been a busy one for the Barcelona-bred, Ibiza-based Balearic master, and we’ve seen him perform everywhere from Ushuaia beach club to Sonica radio to Space super-club.

Now the ever-eclectic José reveals a slice of his musical life during this exclusive two-part interview with DJsounds’ Mel Sutton, as they speak from Sands beach retreat, in Playa D’en Bossa, another venue where he frequently plays.

In this first clip, we get to hear all about his new relationship with Sands, his Bella Musica concept, and his enduring adventures on the sunset strip. These include his previous DJ residency at Café del Mar and his eventual move to Café Mambo, where he’s been regularly soundtracking the sunset this season. Words: LRC
