Mine are fine. There are no problems as far as I know. And if there would be Pioneer would release a new firmware to fix it.
Pioneer has a good record for providing updates & patches.

Does some of you know if there is some problems with the new CDJ 900? And if there are, what kind of problems is it?

The reason people pay money to buy CDJs is that you cannot rely on every DJ to bring the same standard of equipment to a venue. When you have invested thousands and thousands of pounds on a really good PA system do you really want sound quality controlled by someone with a cheap preamp. Also, you need equipment that can be used 24/7 and remain reliable, Pioneer remains one of the most reliable DJ products I have installed into clubs and we continue to buy it and tell our clients to buy it for that reason. You get great service & back up which you only find with a company who are well organised, making a high quality product. Also, a lot of DJs cause havoc unplugging things from the back of DJ mixers and plugging them back in at the end of the night incorrectly (if they bother to reset the booth) and cause lots of problems. Any solution that avoids the need for people messing about with signal cables in backs of DJ mixers is very welcome.

CDJ will never replace the laptop?

Funny... Laptop is really good for new DJs who does not know to use turn tables or CDJs and use the wave view to mix their bad quality bit rate mp3 files...

PS: I am talking about DJing, and not Live acts. Serato, traktor DJs... sux!

"At the end of the day DJs are pretty tech savvy and won’t be blinded by marketing, they’ll weigh up from many sources including friends and choose what what works best for them."

Yeah Right, that's why Pioneer has a series of video showing all of today's top DJ.

"Yes they’re not cheap but could you imagine 5 years ago being able to plug an ethernet cable into a CDJ and instantly share music / data off one usb device over 2 decks without any delay, impressive tech!"

Technology has advanced a great deal. We have wireless controllers on the market today. When I was mixing with turntables in the 80's I told all of my friends once computer improve I will be mixing off a laptop. The majority of my friends thought I was crazy but here we are today mixing with laptops, controller, etc....

I think the best setup for anyone starting today would be software, not a CDJ. Simon and other will continue to defend Pioneer. Technology has advances a great deal but I believe Pioneer will not exist in the DJ market if it continues making CDJ. (Everyone knows this; mark my words this is the last CDJ Pioneer will make)

Don't get me wrong folks. Pioneer make great quality products but I believe they are over priced and don't do half of the thing you could do with software. Today's Djs want more control and I don't think another CDJ is the answer.

Pioneer when you're ready to make the next industry standard controller call me; I'll give you my input. Remember I get a free controller.

I'm done. Enjoy the holidays. You to Simon.

Thx for positivity Jef! Yes the DJs will soon be getting some CDJ-2000s in return for their time and any other future projects we can bring you. I just found our first range brochure the other day...it features the first CDJ-500s on stands next to 2 Technics SL1210s..and going through all our advertising since the beginning we've never tried to 'bash' vinyl and simply worked to answer many DJ's requests for a product that had the convenience / integration of a laptop without some of the constraints that go with it. At the end of the day DJs are pretty tech savvy and won't be blinded by marketing, they'll weigh up from many sources including friends and choose what what works best for them. For some that will be CDJs for others not. Spend a bit of time with the new CDJs and it's impossible not to enjoy using them, there's lots of little improvements not mentioned in the videos too which enhance the experience and make life easier. Yes they're not cheap but could you imagine 5 years ago being able to plug an ethernet cable into a CDJ and instantly share music / data off one usb device over 2 decks without any delay, impressive tech!

I'm sure that none of the DJs got paid for their comments, however it would be hard to believe that all of them didn't get a couple of the units for free as a sweetener;).

I respect all Dj's I don't care what hardware they use to mix. I could care less that DJ Sasha left Ableton for CDJ. If the dj sucks he or she will suck regardless of what's in front of them.

The thing I hate about Pioneer is that they bash other forms of Djing. Form all of the videos I've seen if you're not mixing with CD players your not a dj or you're not professional because you're not using pioneer's products.

Some of the things these so called SuperStar DJ claim are not true. Everything they claim the CDJ can do can be done on a laptop. As for sound there are plenty of computer interfaces that sound great with laptops.

Everybody knows that Pioneer CDJs are over priced. What you pay for 2 CDJ2000 one could purchase a laptop and a computer interface that does more than a pair of CDJ2000.

Once Pioneer stop bash other form of Djing I'll stop writing about Pioneer. I will inform the consumer so they could make a decision based on facts.

Well said Simon, and RESPECT to Pioneer DJ for bringing us these nice new products!

Simon (Dec 18th @ 13:21)

Just to say none of the DJs who spoke on camera after being given a demo of the new CDJs were paid. It was a live session asking them to give honest thoughts on them. Most of our marketing budget goes on making these videos and things like free new 2010 Calendar at your nearest authorised dealer (in Europe)...none of it goes on handing cash to DJs in return for saying nice things! We understand the web is transparent.

These are hugely advanced high spec CDJs, just the DAC chip in them alone comes from very high end hifi giving a great jump up in sound quality which made the MOS in London want them instantly! Sasha abandoned Ableton recently for the CDJ-2000s.. Pioneer are focused on advancing sound quality, ease of use, reliability and the pleasure of DJ'ing, they're not a big company and have high r&d costs. Consumer choice is a good thing and freedom of speech is a good thing so may all types of DJ exist in harmony.

CDJ will never replace the laptop. Dj software will always outperform the CDJ.

Pioneer will end up just like Technics. Issuing the same old hardware and not accepting change.

Laptop and midi hardware is the future. Everything is compact and fits in one bag.

All of the major nightclubs have adapted to the change. I have room for my computer and midi controller at all of the nightclubs I played in.

Pioneer is having hard time convincing people that the cdj are worth the $ and is the way to go.

Nothing Pioneer has done is new. Denon has CD players that read all types of media.

The reason why Pioneer claims there is no midi industry standard hardware is because pioneer can’t make any money from it. There are too many midi devices in the industry today(a good thing it keeps prices low). Today people can create their own midi hardware. How could Pioneer compete with that. The great thing about midi is, it works. You the consumer can decide what midi hardware to purchase based on your needs. You are not tied down to industry standard paying thousands of dollars. Think about $1000+ dollars for a CD player made by Pioneer; A CD PLAYER. Pioneer is joking people left and right.

Don’t be fooled by those super star dj claiming the CDJ are the best tools for djing. The majority of them sold out. They’re getting paid by Pioneer. Look how hard Pioneer is pushing these cdj.

People want affordable hardware that allow them complete control of their software and music. Midi hardware provides that to today’s DJ.

Midi Hardware = Allows you to control the way you play your music.
