DJsounds’ Mel Sutton completes her interview with José Padilla in Part 2 of An Ibiza Legend. In this clip, José speaks intimately about his vast music collection and opening a record store, as well as selecting the perfect sunset track, navigating the twilight, and getting his mojo back.

José first started DJing in the 1970s. He rose to greater international prominence alongside his hugely popular Café del Mar series of mix CDs in the 90s, and remains ingrained in Ibiza’s musical heritage right to this day.

To mark 15 years of sunsets for Café Mambo, the well-loved ambassador of ambient vibes and chilled-out beats has even mixed this year’s Café Mambo Ibiza 09 compilation, released on Defected.
