Interview: Tom Middleton at The Big Chill, Eastnor, UK

With his Crazy Covers compilation and Excursions EP already doing the rounds and a stunning new album called Lifetracks about to drop via Big Chill Recordings, Mr Middleton has had a pretty intense year. Here we caught up with the eclectic selector at The Big Chill festival to chat about his creativity, AV/DJ technology and the ‘Balearic’ style…



76:14, the debut album of Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard’s Global Communication initiative was one of the inspirations behind the very first Big Chill festival. So it was fitting for Tom to return once again this year with his latest emotional endeavor, Lifetracks, presented here as an AV show and out as an audio release on 24th September.In Clip 1 TM talks about Lifetracks, technology and his Ibiza DJ residency, while Clip 2 sees the Jedi discuss his other new releases, his forthcoming Renaissance 3D compilation and what makes a good cover (so be sure look out for Tom’s rare rendition of Uthop, Usha Chorus – Chupke!)There are plans for a DVD to follow the Lifetracks album launch, but in the meantime check out these fabulous musical visuals by Ben Mason (Red Dog) and others, here: http://reddogtv.blip.tv/Shinkansen video clip
