DJsounds takes the temperature of Radio 1’s mega-hot Ibiza Weekend and goes behind the scenes for an interview with TV star and R1 DJ Vernon Kay. Here Mr Kay discusses R1, DJing and the more alternative side of Ibiza.

Part of the station’s Six Weeks of Summer campaign, this sweltering Saturday afternoon in August saw the R1 Allstars (Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Zane Lowe, Judge Jules, Dave Pearce) inciting plenty of ‘life’s a beach/bitch’ antics. These, as you can see, included Vernon water ballooning bemused Mambo king Pete Tong and handcuffing him to a Smurf.
