My guess is it’ll just be an updated CDJ1000 with MIDI support, USB/HDD support, probably new look/layout and maybe a few other bits. But to be honest I doubt it’ll be anything groundbreaking to what’s already available and most likely highly overpriced.

    I guess it’s a CDJ 2000, because there is also now a HDJ 2000…

Just wait and see you guys, nothing to get fired or fret about, it’s just a piece of plastic with a chip nailed to it.

The first CDJ 1000 Delivered a performance and so much more, but the competition is hard as rock today, and if Pioneer cant deliver don’t count on any more spearheaded technology.

Cause there will be two other competitors that are as close as can be.

Will this be the new dawn or the abyss for Pioneer?

    Lets see what happens.

I myself are content with both CDJ mk3s and DNS 3700, don’t need nothing more in the near future, and i will certainly not pay round about, 3500$ a piece for the controlelr and on top of that 4000$ for a DJM 900 or 800mk2 whatever.

The biggest competitor Pioneer have today is LAPTOPS, they’re cheap, sound reasonally good and can do so much more than a pair of cd’s.

The future is now, but im not sure pioneer will win this race!

    /S

I was watching discovery channel earlier this year and there was a clip on something pioneer was working on a way to manipulate sound. Trying hard to remember the programmes name, think it was Next World, it might really be a new species! :) Or just hype? Who knows? Just a thought!

I’m guessing it’s going to be an update of the cdj1000mk3.

There will probably be midi support and connections for HDD.

Roger also said something about being 10 times faster with his samples etc.. so maybe a new software with a new database managment system or something like that..

we’ll see.. still 11 days to go.. can’t wait to see them!

  17. Comment by Jeremy, September 6th, 2009 @ 1:43 pm

I reckon its gonna be a hdd player, like the cortex hdtt5000 or the denon version. i hope it has keyboard support and is linkable because thatd be sweet. cant wait. not long now

just planned to get me some new toys.. wanted the cdj1000 but i will wait these few more days to see what new they got. hope that it will not be that much more than the 4k i have for a new set include speakers etc.!!
    we will see…

  19. Comment by Marko, September 8th, 2009 @ 4:04 am

That won’t be a break through technology.
Denon did it more than year ago.
And now their DN-S3700 will be really hard (and probably much cheaper) competitor.
    We will see…

  20. Comment by DJ ScoJo, September 8th, 2009 @ 8:40 pm

from one of the previous videos, it sounds like there’ll be a large screen to pick music faster, kinda like the denons, but maybe bigger.

mep-7000 crossed with a CDJ1000 Bet it will look like DVJ-1000 but remember “STUPID PRICE TAG ALERT” laptops are cheaper to run but are you really gonna fork out over a 1000 (in whatever currency) just to say look at me… I’m a superstar DJ remember these are tools of the DJ trade n it highly unlikely that your local night club is gunna fork out that (unless it’s pacha, space, or got funds to burn, n what if it breakdown pioneer are not exactly cheap on spare parts trust me i Know.

Basically they are trying to emulate a pc.
Its no use the PC will eventually take over, either by Midi or by Virtual Vynil or just a plain keyboard

  24. Comment by archon, September 10th, 2009 @ 7:37 pm

pc no. mac maybe. if the drawing is accurate then that’s an awesome piece. the highly detailed wav form visual will speed things up as long as you know your tracks. that’s nice. but don’t expect less than 1500 a piece. the mk3s were 1200 when they came out and they don’t have nearly as much technology in them. also denons suck :P pioneer still = industry standard

  25. Comment by muzikmasteruk, September 11th, 2009 @ 8:59 am

Everybody seems to be thinking very linear…

what if the new mk4 had its own processor capable of running its own software on an external monitor??

throw in the connection to an external usb drive and youve got a very powerful tool..

allowing a screen of your choosing would also stop complaints for those who want more coverage of song lists etc.

    ponder on that..

archon, please do keep time in mind. If everybody thought like that, prices on computers (in fact, pretty much everything with developing technology) would be more than sky high.
