DJsounds’ brings you exclusive access to Episode 2 of the How to DJ series with the Australian DJ wizard Phil K. Here Phil takes it the next level by expanding on the basics introduced by Sarah Main in Episode 1.
From counting (and feeling!) those beats, bars and phrases, to assessing wave forms on the CDJs, complete with an introduction to the time remaining/time elapsed feature, to tips on cueing up tracks and getting it tight in a ‘real world’ setting… The man behind such high-impact mixes as Balance 004, Y4k, and The Therapy Sessions, and such production wonders as ‘Burma’ and Because We Can (with Luke Chable as Lostep) shows exactly how to fix it in the mix.
Also coming soon to DJsounds, the UK’s James Zabiela presents his secret weapons in Episode 3.
How to DJ is produced by DJdownload.com and Ministry of Sound TV.

Great series, I’m really looking forward to james zabielas episode. Does anyone know the name of the track in this video?

Keep up the good work guys!
The instructions are very clear and simple for every type of DJ-profile. Doesn’t matter if you are a beginner, a half-wayer or a pro. What I like the most about “How To DJ” is that diffrent pro DJ’s explain and show theire way of DJing. Using more than one Pro DJ in the show is also good for “the viewer”, that way the viewers get a few diffrent ways of explaining the tips and tricks by a diffrent person.
A little suggestion from me:
It would be a nice to have an overview of the tracks that are played in “HOW 2 DJ” episode
Thanks in advance
Regards Jay

hey!
i totally agree with Jay, you´re doing great work here…
but…as Jay just said before…a list of the played tracks or just a note for each video which shows the used tracks would be very great…
for example…me, as an upcoming DJ, i really like the track in episode 2.1 (the one that is mixed out), the same which is used in episode 2.2 (but there it is mixed in )
but i don’t know the track…so this is very very pity

Hey,
As beginning home dj I am learning a lot with these episodes. Only one negative point is that on these episodes the djm 400 and cdj 400 are been changed to a 700.
And a tracklist would also be great for practicing like shown in the episodes.
Otherwise, great job!!!
