James Rial and Richard Burkinshaw are best known to dedicated party lovers as Audiojack. A potent and relatively new DJ/production duo, who join DJsounds here to speak up about their rapid rise in clubland’s ranks – all from their basement HQ in Leeds, UK.
James and Richard met up in the early 00s, and later began producing and playing out together. Now, as they work on their highly anticipated debut album, Audiojack are signed to the widely respected 20:20 Vision Recordings label.
To onlookers, it would appear things took off big time for Audiojack in 2006, following the release of their massive, DC-10-rocking Robot, a top-selling production that the guys turned loose on Leftroom Limited. They have since gone on to make waves with remixes for labels such as CR2, Lot 49, Renaissance, 20:20, Leftroom and Great Stuff. But there’s more, because the guys have also built their name by delivering a cracking live DJ show right around the world. One of their local haunts, however, is the legendary Back to Basics, where DJsounds tracked down the boys at play (see clip).
Currently holding back to hunker down on their forthcoming album, which is said to be sounding on-track for a summer release, Audiojack have also branched out to launch their U.F.O (Underground Frequency Organisation) label, a division of 20:20 Vision and a home to like-minded, underground music. Indeed, brace yourselves for a whole lot more from the Audiojackers in 2008.
